Yoni massage Tantric Journey

For many years the benefits of massage have been championed. There is nothing unusual about booking a massage session and indeed it’s now deemed as regular as getting a take-out cappuccino, but a more intimate sort of massage is becoming increasingly popular: yoni massage.

A yoni massage is available exclusively to women as a treatment for a range of symptoms ranging from stress to disinterest in sex. A yoni massage is carried out by an expert practitioner and in case you are still wondering, yoni is the Sanskrit word for vagina, so this is a massage that focuses on massaging the pulse points in the vagina.

Although some people achieve an orgasm during a yoni massage, this is not main focus of the treatment, instead an intention of releasing negative emotions and learning to receive pleasure are promoted.

Tantric Journey founder Mal Weeraratne explains;

“The sexual organs are very important to overall health and wellbeing. When our sexual organs are subject to blockages due to toxins we reduce our capacity to create and move our sexual energy often referred to as Chi, Prana, Life force throughout our body. It is essential that chi energy can move freely around our bodies in order for us to experience revitalization and for our self-healing mechanism to work effectively.”

Mal continues to explain that blocks can be caused by a range of factors that include: the ageing process, emotional trauma, physical trauma, poor diet and nutrition and stress.  He goes on to say:

When you were born your Yoni was originally made of positive, pleasurable cells. The yoni’s natural state is that of bliss, but as a result of traumas, belief systems, accidents or perhaps even medical examinations and surgery the yoni area can become numb and even painful because trauma from past events have led to negative emotions being stored around the sexual organs. This is turn means that you have become disconnected from one of the most important organs in the body making the yoni painful and numb and losing pleasure and orgasmic potential.”

There are a few things to remember about receiving a professional yoni massage:

  • No sex – the yoni massage is not about sex
  • A professional Yoni Massage therapist is only there to give to the recipient – it is rare for women to purely receive
  • The focus and aim of a yoni massage is healing and holding space for whatever emotions rise to the surface enabling any such emotions to be felt and experienced.
  • The intention of the yoni massage is for healing, awakening and transformation.
  • Clear communication about boundaries and consent are always present
  • The space in which a yoni massage takes place is set up as sacred.

The yoni massage is important for the release of negative emotions and the healing and shifting of the traumas and experiences stored in the yoni, so that a woman can make way for the flow of creative energy and blissful flow that should naturally be present.

It’s easy to see why yoni massage is becoming the latest craze, after all we all deserve to feel pleasure; to be rid of stagnant negative emotions and experience positive change and we all know that the change starts with the self.
