Learning to accept the gift of receiving Tantric Journey

Learning how to fully receive is an essential key when introducing Tantra into your bedroom.

When looking to spice up your love life, you may find yourself thinking about saucy lingerie, naughty weekends away or perhaps even new sexual positions, but being open to receive love is our natural state of blissful being, and having an open mind, heart and body is the best way of spicing up any love life. Indeed, the ability to be open and receive is more enticing than any role play scenario or lingerie can ever hope to be. So if you really want to spice up your love life then you need to work on consciously cultivating your receptivity when entering into sacred space with your partner – you’ll find this is a pathway to bliss.

So here are three top tips on how to cultivate your ability to receive.

  1. Open your mind.

When we talk about opening your mind, we don’t mean that you need to be open minded and unshockable, instead what we are referring to is that you change your mindset. Let’s face it we are all subject to conventional conditioning that leads us to believe sex should look, feel, even sound a certain way. Whether we like it or not, we are all exposed to unrealistic, glossy images of what love, romance and indeed, love lives should look and feel like and this can lead to us feeling that we are missing out or not doing something because our real life relationship never quite measures up to the media versions.

It is important to consider that lovemaking can actually be quite a different experience than what we’ve seen on the screen or is portrayed on media channels. Indeed, sex can be so much more than what we think and in order to expand our experience of love-making we need to learn to receive.

Sex Is Not A Performance! Tantric love-making is all about union and it is about the merging of two into one – two divine beings who are consciously uniting and weaving together. They are in union to explore the sensations of their bodies, the power of their breath and the elevated realms of their consciousness through sexual union.

In order to open your mind you need to be present and stop trying to play a part, you don’t need to act instead you need to approach love making from a meditative mindset. Imagine you are worshipping your lover. Relinquish your attachment to a goal-oriented sex where the aim is to climax and experience or give a genital focused orgasm, instead slow things down and consider that the act of love making is an opportunity to deeply connect with the other person and to experience bliss beyond a genital orgasm.

  1. Open your heart.

Our hearts have a limitless capacity to love and feel, but as we travel the path of life we all shut down our hearts at some level perhaps as a result of hurt or unrequited love. Commit to staying open to love, and be aware that love can take many forms. Don’t forget the importance of self love, remember to love yourself and your lover without expectation.

  1. Open your body

Relax and breathe…this might sound like strange advice when you are looking to spice up your love life, but creating deep relaxation in your body is an essential element to fully receiving.  Stress along with the accumulation of negative emotions such as shame and fear in conjunction with negative body image, all result in tension in our bodies and block the flow of energy from moving freely throughout our body. In order to be an open, receptive vessel for the love you and your partner are sharing you need to fully relax and to also look at taking steps towards emotional detox. Everything begins with the first step and the first step to relaxation is to start to breathe!

  • Begin the breathing process by inhaling and exhaling deeply.
  • Breathe in though the nose. As you do that, imagine that the air is filled with a sense of peace and calm. Try to feel it throughout your body.
  • Breathe out through the mouth. While you’re doing it, imagine that the air leaves with your stress and tension.
  • Breathe in peace and calm.
  • Breathe out stress and tension

Take some time to breathe like this on your own before meeting your beloved and then share this practice together whilst gazing into each other’s eyes and holding hands or lying face to face.

Remember it is our ability to openly receive that can truly transform your love life and create a lasting tantric connection.
