A MOVE FROM SEX TO SACRED

Much of  Mal Weeraratne’s  teachings are based on the principles of Tantra. He believes for a deep connection to be made, the heart, mind and soul must be connected, not just the body.  On all of his training courses and workshops he teaches that intimacy consists of 5 sensors:

  • Touch
  • Vision
  • Hearing
  • Smell
  • Taste

And he teaches couples how to connect on each level. Mal says, ‘sex is a sacred act, not in a religious sense but in as a pure cosmic energy, sex is a physical act that provides a direct connection to the divine’’. In his teachings he explains how healing is possible through harnessing sexual energy in order to revitalise the whole body and mind. Indeed sexual, spiritual, and creative energy are really all parts of one whole.

Mal teaches couples how to connect and create a sacred union, but he explains that the first change has to be in the approach…simply acknowledging that it is not just sex but a sacred act that is not just ‘physical’ is a big step; because this change in mindset can move ‘sex’ to an expression of the sacred. Indeed this shift from making love to being love is part of the art of  Tantra.
